The author of the investing classic A Random Walk Down Wall Street is back with more on how to keep it simple when it comes to investing, even in tough times. Burton G. Malkiel and co-author Charles D. Ellis recently published The Elements of Investing, a small volume that lays of principals worthy of your time and attention.
Malkiel is Princeton University economics professor; Ellis is a consultant to institutional investors, a director of Vanguard and author of Winning the Loser’s Game, which explains why traditional investing strategy almost always produces losing results for the average individual investor.
Malkiel and Ellis tell investors to keep it simple through balanced investments in lost-cost mutual funds, focusing on long-term resumts and using employer-sponsored funds wherever possible to get the best results.
