When writer Jonathan Rauch found himself unprepared for the health decline of his elderly father, he confronted the struggle many Americans face in caring for elderly parents.

Rauch writes about his experience caring for his father in a compelling, brutally-frank article for The Atlantic, Letting Go of My Father. And he discussed  his experiences recently in a podcast for Minnesota Public Radio, Caring for Elderly Parents. Also joining the conversation is Paula Span, author of When the Time Comes: Families with Aging Parents Share Their Struggles and Solutions.
