If you’re thinking through a midlife career change, download the free guide to Career Change and Life Balance, which helps readers identify the best sources of advice, resources and tools for midlife career transition. The guide is offered by WhatsNext.com, which re-launched this summer with a new focus on career transition, information and resources. 50+Digital is a partner in WhatsNext; I’m editing the site, working closely with colleagues Jeremy Koch (founder and CEO) and Mark Gleason (President).
WhatsNext offers a number of unique features, including personal narratives of midlife career changers; advice about retirement-related personal finance; and a directory of career coaches, life coaches and financial advisors that can be searched by name, geography, specialty and certification.
We’re especially excited about our series of in-depth, downloadable guides on career change. Earlier this summer, we released Become a Teacher, a 40-page report that can help career changers decide whether teaching is the right move, laying out the profession’s rewards and drawbacks. The report was written by Sally Abrahms, a respected journalist who specializes in aging and boomers.
We followed up the teaching guide with the free guide to Career Change and Life Balance, written by another top writer in the field, Elizabeth Pope. The guide features advice from top experts including Richard Bolles, author of “What Color is Your Parachute” and Richard Leider, author of “Whistle While You Work.” You can download the Career Change & Life Balance at no charge when you register at the site; registration also will sign you up for our bi-monthly e-mail newsletter on career change and life planning strategies.
